KMI natural clinoptilolite zeolite is evaluated as an ion-exchange, adsorption, and filtration-aid material across these diverse water treatment and filtration environments. With its outstanding ion-exchange selectivity for ammonium (NH₄⁺), it is widely used to replace or supplement conventional sand filter media. With a CEC of 1.6–2.0 meq/g, a specific surface area of 40.0 m²/g, and a stable pH range of 3.0–10.0, it can be applied across a wide variety of water-quality environments.
In water treatment, particle size selection directly determines performance. 8×14 mesh (1.4–2.4 mm) coarse grade is mainly evaluated for swimming pool filtration and large-scale filtration systems, 14×40 mesh (0.4–1.4 mm) medium grade for filter bed construction, and 30×50 mesh (0.3–0.6 mm) fine grade for water treatment, aquarium, and aquaculture filtration.
