Home & Pet
Zeolite is widely used in everyday life for indoor odor control, pet environments, houseplants, and more.
Home & Pet
Inside the home, in pet areas, in the garden, in the trunk of a vehicle — there are more everyday environments where odor and moisture become a problem than you might expect.
Natural clinoptilolite zeolite is evaluated in these living environments as a material for odor-control support, moisture adsorption, and improving the environment around pets. As a chemical-free, naturally mineral-based material, it is drawing attention for household and pet applications as well.
Detailed Applications
Indoor Odor & Moisture Control
Introduces how zeolite is used as a supporting material for managing odor and moisture in indoor spaces such as shoe cabinets, storage rooms, bathrooms, and refrigerators. → Indoor Odor & Moisture Control
Pet Odor Removal
Explains how zeolite is evaluated as a supporting material for reducing the components that cause odor in the environment around dogs and cats. → Pet Odor Removal
Cat Litter Additive
Explains how the supporting effect of reducing ammonia-type odor is evaluated when zeolite is mixed into cat litter. → Cat Litter Additive
Houseplants & Gardening
Introduces how zeolite is used as a potting-mix blend or as a supporting material for improving water retention. → Houseplants & Gardening
Household Spill Cleanup
Explains how zeolite is evaluated as a supporting material for adsorbing and handling liquid spills such as household oils, sauces, and beverages. → Household Spill Cleanup
Notes on Home & Pet Use
As a household material, zeolite is naturally mineral-based, but actual performance can vary depending on space size, ventilation, humidity, and the components causing the odor. Direct ingestion by pets requires a separate safety review.
Home & Pet
Inside the home, in pet areas, in the garden, in the trunk of a vehicle — there are more everyday environments where odor and moisture become a problem than you might expect.
KMI natural clinoptilolite zeolite is evaluated in these living environments as a material for odor-control support, moisture adsorption, and improving the environment around pets. It is a naturally mineral-based material with 97.0% purity, and it has passed the EN-71-3 European toy safety standard (PASS) and been found compliant with California Prop 65, confirming its safety for in-home use. It is also recognized as a USFDA GRAS material and is generally classified as a safe substance.
It leverages the principle by which a microporous structure (pore diameter 4.0–7.0 Å) adsorbs ammonia-type odor components and moisture, while a large contact area provided by a specific surface area of 40.0 m²/g contributes to odor-control and moisture-absorption performance. For household use, various particle sizes are evaluated according to the application.
