Products & Particle Size

Product Overview

KMI natural clinoptilolite zeolite is classified into a range of product grades by mesh size (particle size). Even with the same raw ore, the suitable application changes depending on particle size, so particle size is the first thing to check when selecting a product.

This section provides a guide to product grades by mesh size and a selection guide by application.

Product Guide by Mesh Size

From powder to coarse granule, we have organized the entire product range at a glance based on mesh standards. → View Products by Mesh Size

Powder

A very fine particle size, suitable for applications where blendability and reactive surface area are important. It is considered for pozzolan and concrete admixtures, feed blending, powdered batching processes, and more. → View Powder Products

Fine Granule

Suitable for applications that require a balance of surface area and handling, such as filtration, adsorption, and soil blending. It is widely considered for water treatment and filtration, aquarium and aquaculture filters, and soil amendment. → View Fine Granule Products

Medium Granule

Suitable for applications where both pressure loss and flowability matter, such as building filtration layers, bedding blends, and substrate spreading. → View Medium Granule Products

Coarse Granule

With larger particles that are easy to handle and produce low pressure loss in packed beds, it is suitable for such applications. It is considered for swimming pool filter media, large-scale filtration systems, and de-icing and anti-slip uses. → View Coarse Granule Products

Product Selection Guide by Application

This guide explains which particle size to choose by purpose across water treatment, agriculture, livestock, construction, and the living environment. → View by Application

What to Check Before Selecting a Product

Particle size selection directly affects product performance. Organize the items below first, then select your product.

  • Purpose of use: filtration, adsorption, blending, substrate, feed, pozzolan, etc.
  • Process type: dosing / packed bed / blend batching / spreading
  • Handling environment: indoor / outdoor / inside equipment
  • Required packaging unit and expected usage volume

If the particle size and usage conditions do not match, it may be difficult to achieve the expected performance. If you are unsure, please request a sample or technical inquiry first.

Product Overview

KMI natural clinoptilolite zeolite is classified into 5 product grades by mesh size (particle size). Even with the same raw ore (97.0% purity, CEC 1.6–2.0 meq/g), the suitable application changes depending on particle size, so particle size is the first thing to check when selecting a product.

The currently available product grades are as follows:

Product NameMeshParticle SizeMain Applications
KMI 100- US MESH (Powder)100 mesh and finer<150μm, median 50μmPozzolan, feed blending, powder adsorption, cement replacement
KMI 30×50 US MESH (Fine Granule)30×50 mesh0.3–0.6mmWater treatment, filtration, soil blending, aquarium
KMI 14×40 US MESH (Medium Granule)14×40 mesh0.4–1.4mmFiltration layer, bedding blend, substrate
KMI 8×14 US MESH (Coarse Granule)8×14 mesh1.4–2.4mmPool filtration, large-scale filtration, de-icing
KMI 4×8 US MESH (Extra Coarse)4×8 mesh2.4–4.8mmLarge packed beds, air scrubbers

For sales in Korea, sample products (2.2kg each) and bulk packages (22kg, 50 lbs bags) are available, with sample prices ranging from approximately KRW 15,000–30,000 per mesh grade.

Powder — 100 Mesh and Finer

A fine powder with a particle size of 150μm or less (median 50μm), suitable for applications where blendability and reactive surface area are important. It is considered for pozzolan and concrete admixtures (ASTM C618), feed blending (FDA GRAS, 2% or less), powdered batching processes, pellet flow agents, and more. → View Powder Products

Fine Granule — 30×50 Mesh

With a particle size of 0.3–0.6mm, it is suitable for applications that require a balance of surface area and handling, such as filtration, adsorption, and soil blending. It is widely considered for water treatment and filtration, aquarium and aquaculture filters, and soil amendment. → View Fine Granule Products

Medium Granule — 14×40 Mesh

With a particle size of 0.4–1.4mm, it is suitable for applications where both pressure loss and flowability matter, such as building filtration layers, bedding blends, and substrate spreading. → View Medium Granule Products

Coarse Granule — 8×14 Mesh

With a particle size of 1.4–2.4mm, it is easy to handle and produces low pressure loss in packed beds, making it suitable for such applications. It is considered for swimming pool filter media, large-scale filtration systems, and de-icing and anti-slip uses. → View Coarse Granule Products
